This recently-built property in Worcestershire showcases how upvc flush casement windows pair beautifully with architectural aluminium steel look doors. Installed by L & L Installations Ltd, the project includes a full set of olive-finished Evolution Flush casement windows throughout the house, complemented by a bold set of Aluco steel-look patio doors, manufactured by our group company, Aluco Aluminium.
While the two systems are built from different materials, uPVC and aluminium, the look works with the olive colour and contrasting black in harmony. With the exterior textured olive finish, crafted in our Biggleswade factory, offers a warm, heritage tone that brings life to the traditional brick exterior. The result is a timeless look that delivers long-term performance, low maintenance, and outstanding security.
The installation comprises a variety of flush window configurations across the home. From two- and three-module casements to larger four-module designs, the windows feature a clean, symmetrical look that enhances the façade. The larger four module window also includes a timber like transom bar with top-hung fanlights above, providing ventilation with the smaller windows. At the same time, the entire window has completely balanced sightlines and equal glass sizes.
All windows are outward opening side-hung casements, with fire escape hinges fitted to the first-floor openings. Slimline uPVC flush casement window frames, authentic detailing and a flat, seamless sash design are key to the window's refined appearance. Timber-look mechanical joints are used throughout, paired with colour-matched timber-style cills and our signature hidden trickle vents, which also function as discreet weatherbars.
Installed to the rear elevation is a striking set of Aluco steel-look patio doors in black. The slim profiles, visible transoms, and grid-style glazing bring a subtle industrial influence to the design, providing a dramatic contrast to the softer timber-inspired windows. Glazed side panels on either side of the double doors maximise natural light and maintain balanced sightlines across the elevation.
Each Aluco door set is manufactured from thermally broken aluminium, engineered for strength, energy performance and longevity. Multi-point locking and secure glazing deliver excellent security without compromising the refined design.
All doors are glazed with toughened safety glass, incorporating a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm-edge spacer bars and argon gas fill. While window glazing is not toughened unless required, it is in the same highly insulated specification with low centre-pane U-Values, contributing to the overall window performance. All uPVC flush casement windows have excellent U-values thanks to the multi-chambered profiles and secure double-glazing specification.
All hardware is finished in black, chosen to match the door frames and maintain a cohesive design language across the entire project. Internal beading, multi-point locks, and secure mechanical joints ensure all access points meet modern safety standards while preserving the authentic, crafted look expected of a premium timber-alternative product.
From the seamless timber-effect surface to the hand-finished joints and authentic cills, Evolution Flush Casement Windows are engineered to replicate the appearance of timber, without any of the drawbacks. Projects like this Worcestershire modern home with an added extension, show how well they integrate with other styles and materials such as aluminium. All while still retaining the quiet confidence of true craftsmanship.
Whether you're building from new or upgrading an existing property, Evolution remains the original and most accurate timber-look window available in the UK today.
