Storm Windows Transform a Cotswold Cottage

This charming stone house, updated with Evolution Storm windows and a matching door from The English Door Company. Finished in the ever-popular Olive Green, the new glazing complements the soft Cotswold tones of the building while delivering the modern performance and low maintenance that only a premium timber-alternative product can offer. The installation includes the replacement of multiple windows, French doors, larger window modules, doors and Entrance screens. All products comprise the Evolution Storm Collection with doors and English Door Company entrance doors on both ground and first floors.

Each window is expertly-crafted in our Bedfordshire factory and designed to suit the client brief. The glazing bar proportions, dummy casements, balanced sightlines and equal sightlines you get with Evolution Storm, works perfectly in breathing new life into this home, whilst respecting its original architecture.

Upstairs, the Storm windows are configured with two horizontal glazing bars, creating six equal panes for a balanced and traditional appearance. One of the upper windows also features a fixed lower panel with colour-matched UPVC boarding, designed to replicate the look of painted timber panelling and maintain a consistent visual theme.

On the ground floor are Storm windows in a similar design with two hand-applied and finished bars on each window. With the windows sitting in the stone surround, we've also provided a timber-look stub-cill. Even better the windows come with the signature hidden trickle vent design which never affects the styling of the window, but always meets Part F of Building Regulations.

Downstairs, the property features a standout French door with side panels set. Everything is designed to match with dummy sashes creating identical frame sightlines. Above the doors in the same timber-look panelling is a bespoke timber arched head.

As the main entrance to the home, the doors come as standard with modern security features, security key cylinder and robust handles, but all with architectural charm. Solid panels below the midrails provide a consistent look and the entire screen is glazed with toughened safety glass, having a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill.

For windows and doors, security is provided through multipoint locking, internal glazing beads, and expert design features that result in safe, secure, and long-lasting windows and doors. Each frame is constructed using multi-chambered profiles that provide excellent thermal performance, with the option of double or triple glazing depending on the required U-values.

The slimline sash, deep bottom rails, and timber-style putty lines all work together to recreate the elegance of traditional joinery. The glazing bars are applied with meticulous attention to detail, giving a sharp, authentic finish that's consistent across all windows and doors. GLAZING: Doors glazed with toughened safety glass, having a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill. It is not toughened in windows.

SECURITY & PERFORMANCE: Multipoint locking, security tested, internally glazed, with multi-chambered profiles providing excellent U-values. Double or triple glazed depending on the required specification.
