This new-build home in Maidenhead has recently undergone a full window replacement, with every original unit removed and upgraded to Evolution flush casement windows. Supplied and professionally installed by Thames Valley Window Company, the project reflects both the quality of the Evolution product and the expertise of one of Berkshire’s most experienced glazing specialists. We manufactured a mix of traditional and modern design elements, and the white woodgrain finish selected for the new flush windows sits comfortably within the architecture of this family home. Internally, the clean lines of the flush casement design works very well with the stylish interior décor. Externally, the flush finish and equal sightlines bring a subtle, heritage-inspired consistency to each elevation as the original timber windows would have done in the past. Flush Window Types and Design Across the Home
This project includes a broad range of window configurations, all manufactured in our flush casement design with timber-look detailing and mechanical joints.
Upstairs, the bedroom windows are a combination of double and triple-module layouts, designed to make full use of the available openings and their design brings in a lot of natural light into each room. All habitable rooms upstairs are fitted with fire-escape hinges, and each window includes a concealed trickle ventilator integrated into the head of the frame—providing essential background ventilation in compliance with Part F of Building Regulations, without impacting on the external or internal appearance.
The hidden trickle vent is one of many unique stylings features we invented in the Evolution windows, so the original proportions could be retained, without the usual additional frame extender required on modern windows. Bbathrooms, stairwells and landings, top-hung outward opening windows have been specified. These maintain ventilation and light in more compact spaces, with the same timber-style finish as the larger units. The top hung design here, allows for bigger window openings in a one-module window style. In the front-facing ensuite, obscure safety glazing has been used to provide privacy while retaining natural light.
Specialist Gable and Return Window Detailing
One of the stand-out elements in this Maidenhead property is the glazing to the roof space. At the front of the house, three-module gable windows have been fitted to follow the pitch of the roofline, aligning perfectly with the gothic-style detailing above.
Hardware, Glazing and Specification
As with all Evolution flush casement windows, this installation benefits from high-specification glazing as standard. The hardware chosen for this home includes contrasting silver key-locking handles, complementing the white woodgrain frames. All windows come with latest generation multipoint locking, tested to the latest security standards, with secure shoot bolts for added protection across all opening sashes.
